Raúl Cerrillo es un artista activista que colabora a reconstruir el tejido social por medio del desarrollo de conciencia utilizando el arte como método de sanación.
Sus estudios académicos los realizó en la Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas “La Esmeralda” (INBA) en México y en el Instituto de Artes Visuales en Puebla, como estudios complementarios tomo cursos de pintura en vidrio en Wheaton Village en Estados Unidos. De manera especial realiza estudios para el aprendizaje profundo del ser, como rituales chamánicos wixáricas y la toltequidad.
Sus exhibiciones individuales han recorrido el interior de la República Mexicana. Y sus piezas han sido parte de exposiciones colectivas en Austin, Barcelona, Milán, Paris y Londres. Ha sido premiado con la beca del FOESCAP (Puebla, Pue.) en 2001-2002 y 2004-2005, la beca del FONCA Jóvenes Creadores (México) en 2003-2004 y 2007-2008, obtuvo el premio Adquisición de Arte Contemporáneo en 2004 en Puebla, además ha sido premiado con el premio de Adquisición por la Asociación de la Plástica en San Pedro Garza García en 2007, ha sido finalista y ha tenido menciones honoríficas en diversas instituciones tales en la Bienal Arte Emergente en Monterrey, N.L y en la Bienal en Yucatán y el 2014 fue nominado como mejor artista visual latinoamericano en los premios Lukas en Londres.
Su obra se encuentra en museos y colecciones privadas.

​Raúl Cerrillo artist-activist born in Mexico City 1977, studied in The National School for the Arts INBA “La Esmeralda”.   Parallel to his artistic studies, he focuses on the learning and understanding of the inner Self, biology and technology of the body, and all related to prehispanic cultures and rituals, including shamanism and plants of power.  He´s committed to the social betterment of his community creating programs of the power of healing through art, nature and meditation in places of high poverty rates and marginalization, including prisons. He is also co-creator of the international exhibiting platform of Mexican inspired art, Shaped in Mexico.
 
He has had numerous solo exhibitions in Mexico and has participated in collective exhibitions in Venice, Dusseldorf, Barcelona, Milan, Paris and London.
He has been awarded with the state of Puebla grant for the arts and with the National grant for the arts FONCA twice. He obtained the award of Acquisition for Contemporary Arts of Puebla, and the same award for the city of Monterrey, Mexico.
He has had numerous honorific mentions on diverse institutions of arts and culture in his country and has been nominated for best visual Latin artist for the LUKAS award London 2014.
